In season 2, we chatted about serving God abroad with your family. There was such a positive response that we decided to explore a bit more about some issues any global worker may face and what you can do if you aspire to be one. The truth is, working globally isn't for the faint of heart. That's why Executive Director and licensed mental health professional Curtis McGowan dedicates his life to making sure you perform your job well abroad.
In today’s episode, I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with Curtis McGown, Executive Director at Godspeed Resources Connection (GRC). He is a licensed mental health professional and has experience providing mental health services to quite a few different populations. There are a TON of gems in this conversation so be sure to grab your notepad and pen! Here’s a little sneak peek of what you can expect to hear:
Boundaries - When to Say YES, When to Say NO, To Take Control of Your Life by Dr. Henry Cloud
Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills - one-week training to help prepare (aspiring) global workers
Velvet Ashes - for global worker women
Donate to a non-profit organization such as Global Resources Connection (used for scholarships for those who cannot afford mental health services and travel for global workers)
Pray.
Send cards, pictures, updates, and care packages.
