Keeping It Centered

When Serving and Submitting Are Hard

Episode Summary

What do we do when serving others and submitting in marriage are hard? That's what's Tiffanie Walls shares with us this week on the Keeping It Centered podcast.

Episode Notes

"Happy wife, happy life." That's what many couples go into marriage believing. Can I tell you that statement isn't biblical, though? The success of a marriage shouldn't be dependent upon the happiness of only one person.

As young girls, oftentimes we envision marriage as the fairy tales we read in books or see in movies. It generally doesn't cross our minds that God's called us to be  submissive to our husbands. Or that life is about serving, not being served. In today's podcast episode, Tiffanie Walls share with us:

Scriptures

It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife. - Proverbs 21:9

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. - Colossians 3:18-19

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. - 1 Peter 4:8

Quote

"Our marriage should point back to Christ." -Tiffanie Walls
